Ayurveda science believe dat diseases born from indigestion. “सर्वे रोगः अपि मन्दग्नो: II”
Poor digestions lead to formation of toxins called Aam in body. That can be seeds of various diseases. “आमदोषं महा घोरं….II”
Ayurveda scholar Aacharya Vaghbhatta mentioned Aahar =Food very first basic need of body.If we eat our food with precautions it will be surely make our immunity strong. आहर शयन ब्रह्मचर्य युक्ताय प्रयोजितै: II
Food which is taken at right time, according to ur hunger and body constitutes is only good for health.
One should eat all types of Ras, ie. 6 tastes = spicy,bitter,sweet,sour n pungent in his/her routine food.So can body get all types of things dats needed for better digestions and better health. “सर्वदा सर्व रसः अभ्यासः अरोग्यकरणं II”
If take food beyond our capacity,it can cause of Dosha prakop and ultimately destroy the body. “अति मात्रं पुनः सर्वनाशु दोषान् प्रकोपयेत II”
Ayurveda suggest to eat in a quite, settled atmosphere, as it promotes ideal digestions.
When ur watching TV, reading book or talking while taking food, ypur body doesn’t receive proper cues it needs to releases the correct chemicals to breakdown specific types of food.
Chew your food properly,lets saliva shud mix with the bolus so it can helps to releases proper digestive enzymes to properly breakdown the food.This will improve digestions and absorptions and help you know when ur stomach full sooner as to not overeat.
Its proved dat, cooking with gas or wood flames is better den electrics, it empower food differently, making it easier to digest. Avoid microwaves, as they breakdown the food molecules in different ways n degrade d nutrients,n dat may b dangerous to health.
Whenever possible, take fresh food and water, as PRAN tatva(=a good energy) is present in it,wheres its absent in canned,frozen,packed food.
Ayurveda mention One more imp thing abt food is– the thoughts and emotions of cook become part of food. The energy of cook’s emotions get cooked into the food.
Some food combinations r called Virruddha Aahar in Ayurveda.Such combination of food must be avoid like– Mlk with meat, Eggs, fish,sour fruits/ Yoghurt with milk, hot drinks, cheese,fish/ curd everyday with meal etc…
Do not smoke after a meal as it will make slow digestion process.
Do not eat fruits immediately after meals. It will bloat your stomach. Therefore have your fruits one or two hours before or after your meal.
Do not drink tea/coffee after a meal as tea leaves contain a high content of acid. This substance will cause the protein content in the food we consume to be hardened; making it difficult to digest.
Dont take any soft/hard drinks before meal or after meal, as it will hamper ur digestive system very badly.
Dont drink plenty of water after meal, as it hamper metabolic process resulting in indigetions, heavy stomach etc.
Do not bathe after eating. Bathing will cause the increase of blood flow to the hands, legs and body thereby causing the amount of blood around the stomach to decrease. This will weaken the digestive system in our stomach.
Do not sleep immediately. The intake of food will not be able to digest properly thereby leading to gastro-intestinal problems. Taking rest for half an hour (no sleep juz lie down on the ground) is good after a heavy meals. Rest means just sitting calmly without doing anything.
So avoid these minute but very important things to be healthy naturally. This will surely increase your digestions and ultimately makes your body strong enough against various diseases.
